The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Parasitic Diseases is a center for the coordination of scientific research on the regional features of the epidemiology of infectious diseases, the microbiology of pathogenic microorganisms, as well as for the development of new diagnostic methods, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases.

The clinic of the center is a methodological and organizational center in the republic for the fight and prevention of infectious and parasitic diseases. The clinic provides treatment to adults and children suffering from diarrheal diseases, brucellosis, viral hepatitis, helminthiases, typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever, botulism, malaria, sepsis, toxoplasmosis and other diseases, mainly from the regions of the Republic and the city of Tashkent.

The main scientific directions of the center for the coming years:

1. Development of new pathogenetic concepts for acute intestinal infections, zoonoses, parasitic diseases

2. Development of modern foundations for epidemiological monitoring of the most important infectious diseases

3. Study of the features of the modern clinical course of the most important infectious diseases in Uzbekistan

4. Development and implementation in healthcare practice of new methods of laboratory diagnostics of the most important infectious diseases

5. Improving the methods of etiopathogenetic therapy of the most important infectious diseases in Uzbekistan

6. Creation of new methods of mathematical modeling of the most important infectious diseases in order to develop a short-term and long-term prognosis.
